Flights to Kilimanjaro
Finding a flight to Kilimanjaro is not an easy task, as there are very few flights to this area despite it being an international Airport. But here we shall look at the safe and affordable flights and factors to consider while booking.
The international code, or IATA code, is JRO. Southwest of Kilimanjaro is where the airport is located, with Arusha and Moshi as the nearest towns. There are both about 45 mins to the hiking points of Kilimanjaro, and most hikers sleep here.
There is a local airstrip in Arusha, but this receives only local flights and connects with Kenya. The Kilimanjaro airport receives no flights from the UK and the US. There is a KLM flight to Kilimanjaro, and this is the most commonly used. So you will need to connect to Amsterdam and then Kilimanjaro.

This flight departs Amsterdam around 10:00 am every day and arrives at Kilimanjaro International Airport around 8:30 pm the same day.
The other alternative, more so for the people in the UK and the US, is to take either Kenya Airways to Nairobi or Ethiopian Airlines to Addis Ababa, and here you will get a connecting flight to Kilimanjaro. This is strenuous, but it is an option also.
The British Airways flight to Nairobi is another option, but this flight tends to be expensive. The other airlines will also do the same, either connect you from Dar esSalaam or Nairobi or Entebbe, and you connect to Kilimanjaro using local airlines; otherwise, the only best international option to Kilimanjaro is KLM.
