12 days Kilimanjaro hike and Tanzania wildlife safari is a trip which will start with a hiking experience on Mount Kilimanjaro along the Lemosho route. You will also visit wildlife viewing destinations in the northern part of Tanzania during the safari.
You will engage in a safari to Serengeti national park during your safari and engage in game drives in the morning and in the afternoon as you explore the vast savannah plains of the national park in search of different wildlife species like elephants, rhinos, lions, leopards, buffalos, wildebeests, zebras, giraffes among others.
During the safari, you will also visit the Ngorongoro crater and engage in a game drive along the crater floor as you look out for wildlife species and enjoy the beautiful scenery. After this experience your guide will drive you to Arusha which will bring your safari to an end.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1; pick up and drive to Londrossi gate to forest camp
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and welcome you for your safari. You will proceed to Londrossi gate where you will begin your hike on Mount Kilimanjaro. You will hike to forest camp where you will spend the first night of your safari.
Day 2; forest camp to Shira 1 camp
On the 2nd day of your safari, you will hike from forest camp to Shira 1 camp through forest and hike to Shira ridge. You will spend the night at Shira 1 camp where you will enjoy views of Kibo.
Day 3; Shira 1 camp to Shira 2 camp to Moir hut
You will start your hike and explore the Shira plateau and follow the trail eastwards to Shira 2 camp. From Shira 2 camp, you will hike to Moir hut where you will spend the night.
Day 4; Moir hut to Barranco camp
On the 4th day of your hike on Mount Kilimanjaro, you will hike from Moir hut to the lava tower and this route will lead you to arrow glacier. From arrow glacier, you will hike to Barranco camp where you will spend the night.
Day 5; Barranco camp to Karanga camp
You will hike from Barranco camp to a steep ridge and your hike will take about 4 to 5 hours of hiking to Karanga camp where you will spend the night.
Day 6; Karanga camp to Barafu hut
You will hike from Karanga hut following the Mweka trail to Barafu hut where you will enjoy views of the summit and also seeing the Mawenzi and Kibo. You will spend the night at Barafu hut.
Day 7; Barafu hut to Uhuru peak to Mweka camp
Your hike will start early at around midnight and you will head northwards to Stella point where you will have a short rest. You will continue your hike to the summit which is Uhuru peak the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro. After enjoying the beautiful views and seeing the sunset, you will begin your descend to Mweka camp which will take about 4 to 6 hours where you will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 8; Mweka camp to Mweka gate and drive to Arusha
You will start your day with breakfast as you prepare to descend from Mweka camp to Mweka gate. Your guide will meet you at the gate and drive you to your hotel in Arusha where you will spend the night at Runako lodge.
Day 9; transfer to Serengeti national park
After having breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, you will check out of the hotel ahead of your drive to Serengeti national park which is the oldest national park in Tanzania and is also a popular tourist destination in the northern part of Tanzania. During your safari in Serengeti national park, you will search for wildlife species such as the big 5 such as elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and buffalos. You will check in and have lunch at your lodge in Serengeti national park. You will spend the rest of the day relaxing at your lodge where you will have dinner and overnight at Mawe tented camp.
Day 10; full day in Serengeti national park
You will start your day with breakfast at your lodge as you prepare for a full day game viewing experience in Serengeti national park. You will engage in a morning game drive in the national park and search for wildlife species in the central part of Serengeti national park. You will look out for different wildlife species in the open savannah plains such as wildebeests, elands, impalas, gazelles, kudu, waterbucks, giraffes, hippos, lions, leopards, zebras, dik dik among others. You will also have your lunch after your morning game drive in Serengeti national park.
After your lunch, you will engage in another game drive in Serengeti national park and explore attractions in the national park and also enjoy the scenery around the national park. Your guide will drive you back to your lodge after your game drive for dinner and overnight as the day before at Mawe tented camp.
Day 11; drive to Ngorongoro crater
Your breakfast will be served at your lodge in Serengeti national park ahead of your transfer to Ngorongoro conservation area. You will enjoy a safari in Ngorongoro where you will visit the world’s largest in active caldera called the Ngorongoro crater which is also home to numerous wildlife species. during your game drive on the crater floor you will look out for different wildlife species such as the lions, elephants, leopards, buffalos, rhinos, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, cheetahs, antelopes, elands, impalas, gazelles, waterbucks, hartebeests, hippos among others.
You will descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro crater where you will also see attractions like Lake Magadi and also flamingos along the shores of the lake. You will have dinner and spend the night at Eileen’s tree inn.
Day 12; departure
On the last day of your safari, you will have breakfast at your lodge ahead of your drive to Arusha where your guide will drop you off at the airport or your hotel in Arusha which will bring your safari to an end.
