Day 1 Rongai Gate to 1st Cave (1950m to 2600m)

You will be picked from your hotel/lodge at Moshi or Arusha and drive to the Rongai gate which takes almost 5 hours drive. The gate is on the border of Tanzania and Kenya passing through tea and banana plantations. After the briefing, we will start our hike of the day up to our first camp at 1st cave.

Day 2 1st cave to Kikelewa cave (2600m to 3600m)

After our breakfast that is served early in the morning, we continue with our climb through the Kilimanjaro moorland. We trail through steep and short parts of the climb as we head to our next camp Kikelewa cave.

Day 3 Kikelewa cave to Mawenzi Tarn Camp (3600m to 4330m)

Day 3 of 6 days Rongai Route Kilimanjaro Hiking starts with breakfast, after breakfast, the hikers start their hike through the steep trail to from Kikelewa cave to Mawenzi Tarn Camp. We reach the camp in the evening enjoy the sunset view as we allow our bodies to acclimatize.

Day 4 Mawenzi Tarn Camp to Kibo Camp (4330m to 4700m)

Wake up early for an African cup of coffee, enjoy heavy fresh African breakfast before we start our journey of the day. Trek to the East to Kibo hut where we have lunch break as we have a view of the Saddle in an alpine desert. The hut office has both soft drinks and mineral water for sale. An early dinner served so that the hikers get enough rest for the summit attempt the next day.

Day 5 Kibo camp to Uhuru peak to Horombo Hut (4700m to 5895 m to 3720m)

Day 5 of 6 days Rongai Route Kilimanjaro Hiking starts at around midnight or 1 am wakeup call from the senior guide. A short breakfast with biscuits are served before we start our attempt to the summit. Trekking through the rocky Hans Meyer Cave to Gillman’s point near the crater rim. You will start experiencing snow from this point till you reach to the peak. After reaching your destiny of lifetime experience, enjoy the drama and later descend down in Horombo hut.

We will have a lunch break at Kibo hut before we complete our journey to Horombo Hut.

Day 6 Horombo Hut to Marangu gate (3720m to 1980m)

After our ceremonious morning breakfast with a toss from other friends full of singing and dancing. We now slope to the Marangu gate where our driver will meet you after getting your gold certificates and transfer us to Moshi or Arusha town.
