7 Days Kilimanjaro Safari Lemosho Route: Hiking Kilimanjaro through the west from Lemosho trail is the most recommended scenic and easy trail for hiking Mt Kilimanjaro Mountain. The trail is still unpopular with unspoiled nature passing through the Shira Caldera as you approach Kibo from the southern part.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arusha to Londorossi gate (2100m) to Mti Mkubwa camp (2750m)

Get an early breakfast, have parked lunch boxes and drive to Mt Kilimanjaro to Londorosi Gate where we receive our briefing before heading to the mountain for the activity of the day. Our potters and the chef will always be a head of us as they reach to the camp early to prepare for our arrival and set all the tents for us. The dreive will continue from the gate through more agricultural farm land to Lemosho starting point which has beautiful scenery of the rain forests

Our hike continues for the next 3 to 4 hours to reach to the Mti Mkubwa Camp, its only in Lemosho route that you can have hiking game viewing of different animals like Buffalos, Forest Elephants, Monkeys and others. Reach to the camp for our rest as we wait for dinner, the chef will serve as with hot snacks and hot water as we wait for dinner.

7 Days Kilimanjaro Safari Lemosho Route

Day 2  Mti Mkubwa Camp (2750m) to Shira 2 Camp (3840m)

Start the day with hot heavy breakfast served early before we start our hike of the day which will take us 6 to 7 hours to reach to the next Shira camp. This is the day where we will join the shira route trail as we pass by the Forest vegetation entering to the Moorland zone at the Shira plateau.

The trail crosses many streams as we harden to reach to the camp where we will have spectacular view of the glacier on the East and Breach on the west. We will reach to the Shira 2 camp later in the evening where we can all actively participate of the raising of the tents as the chef will be busy preparing the best meal for us.

Day 3 Shira 2 Camp (3840m) to Lava Tower (4630m) to Barranco Camp (3950m)

on  days 3 of 7 Days Kilimanjaro Safari Lemosho Route, After our breakfast we leave the camp with its covering Moorland vegetation zone for the next vegetation zoning marked by the beginning of the Semi desert rocky vegetation. After 5 hours hiking to the Eastern direction to the lava ridges down the glacier. Have lunch break at the lava tower before we continue down to the Barranco valley where we will set our tents for the overnight and dinner

Day 4 Barranco Camp (3950m) to Karanga Camp (3950m)

The briefest hike of Mount Kilimanjaro is today, we will have our breakfast then start 5 hours hike to Karanga Camp with beauty of nature as we observe at distance the clear view of the glacier of Heim.

This is acclimatization hike as you take your own time getting used to the new temperatures and weather at this point. We will slope down to the valley of Karanga where the camp is located.

Day 5 Karanga Camp (3959m) to Barafu Hut (4600)

on days  5 of 7 Days Kilimanjaro Safari Lemosho Route, At this point we will be crossing the Mweka route mostly used for descending down on the final day after our victory the peak. We proceed with our hike as we have several stops for pictures and nature viewing with an aerial view of the surrounding environment with an eagle eye above the sky.

Have another 1 to 2 hour walk to the most renowned hut called Barafu locally meaning “ice” though the hut is not even located in the ice but rocky landscape with windy atmosphere. This is our next attempt to the Uhuru peak, the day will end as we prepare for our close victory of happiness the next morning

Day 6 Barafu Camp (4600m) to Uhuru Peak (5895m) to Mweka (3100m)

Waking up more early around midnight east African time, we will have light breakfast to energize us then start our victorious hike to the peak. Steep crater rim at Stella point  will be reached early morning after our 6 hours hike, proceed to raise our country flags at Uhuru peak just few meters away from our resting Stella point.

After reaching to the peak we have celebrations depending on the weather of the day but we will break it short to descend down to the Mweka camp as we reduce on our journey back to the main gate.

Day 7 Mweka (3100m) to Mweka Gate (1980m)

After our long one week hike finally we come back to the bottom of the highest world free standing mountain, thanking God and all the staff, potters and Chef who made us make  up to the final destination. We will receive our certificates and sit in to our waiting car which will take us back to Arusha.
