7 Days Kilimanjaro Safari (Shira Route): Shira Route is one of the trails which is one of the longest routes that are on the Western side of Mt Kilimanjaro, the route starts at the lowest altitude of around 3,600 meters above sea level hence giving favorable conditions for even an experienced hikers to reach to the summit due to enough acclimatization time as one hikes up.

The route is an original point before the creation of Lemosho route which was created to improve the starting point to cut the transport costs at Lemosho starts on Londorossi Gate which Shira Route is a head bypassing Lemosho route starting point further to the North.

Shira route has more successful chances of reaching to the summit though its longer but it has been one of the most successful routes.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1; Arusha To Shira Gate

After morning cup of African coffee, our driver guide will pick you up and brief you with all the needed equipment needed for the successful hike of Kilimanjaro. We will start our drive to Mt Kilimanjaro reaching to the park gate of Shira where we will go for registration with the park authorities, our potters and chef with the guide will join as so that we start our dreams come true journey. Enroute lunch and proceed to the Shira camp for our dinner and overnight.

Day 2. Shira camp to Barranco camp

Wake up early for hot heavy breakfast, start our day two hike up words to the East as we surpass the vegetation approaching the looming Mass through rocky mountainous landscape reaching to Lava Tower where will have stop for lunch. After our lunch descend down to Barranco Camp through Breach and Breach wall on the western part, reaching late afternoon or early evening depending on the fattiness of the hikers where we will enjoy the sun set and other beautiful outlook of the vegetation. We will have our dinner served early and overnight at the camp.

Day 3 Barranco Camp

In our day 3 we will have leisure at this camp enjoy enough pictures, acclimatization of Mt Kilimanjaro have a walk around and have your breakfast, lunch and dinner as we relax and have a rest for the next journey.

Day 4 Barranco Camp to Karaga

After our breakfast we hike more to steep ridge of Barranco wall through one of the scaring but easy obstacle to go through which is just below Heim glacier as we approach to view the beauty of the world’s tallest free standing mountain. One will feel the soaring of Kibo glaciers in front, decend to Karanga Valley to our camp for lunch and dinner.

Day 5 Karanga to Barafu Camp

As the name of the camp suggest our next hike is now to the cold glacier, we will have our breakfast served early then after we proceed with our dream experience f reaching to the summit as day pass by we keep approaching nearer the Uhuru peak. Passing through ridges and valleys as we join new other route Mweka Route we keep hiking up till we reach to our hut Barafu Hut bypassing the Karanga valley. Have our lunch at barafu hut before we erect our tents to prepare for our night around here, we sleep early for short time as our next hike starts soon

Day 6 Barafu to Uhuru Peak

on the the 6th day of the 7 Days Kilimanjaro Safari (Shira Route), Our dreams come true!! Raising around midnight when we are still dreaming we will have hot tea with a biscuit, dress with all equipments including head lamps as we climb to the Northwest through Ratzels and Rebman glaciers to the Stella Point on the rim which acts as the most hardest and challenging point on hiking Mt Kilimanjaro. We will have brief rest at Stella point to have clear view of the sun rise as we start celebrating our journey passing through glaciers as we reach and hang our flag of happiness and joy at the peak of Huru!!!

After our pictures we start slopping down as we reduce our journey to Mweka Camp for our next accommodation.

Day 7: Mweka Camp t Mweka Gate to Arusha

After our breakfast, continue to descend down to the gate where we will receive our certificates as conquerors of Kilimanjaro. Drive to Arusha for more celebrations.
